All about Blackpool tourism

Blackpool is a popular seaside resort town in North West England and a holiday in Blackpool has been a British classic for over a century. Visitors can fly into Blackpool International Airport and catch a train for the city at Squires Gate Lane. Blackpool is also has regular train links with all other British cities, and and the historic tram that runs along the coast is one of the most authentic ways to visit Blackpool.

For most, the top stop in Blackpool is Pleasure Beach, an Oceanside theme park full of rides and roller coasters. In fact, it's the most visited attraction in the UK. While the rides are exhilarating for adults, the Nickelodeon Land children’s park is also on the premises and there are plenty of restaurants so you can have a full day of fun during your Blackpool holiday. If you’re looking to beat the heat, the Sandcastle Water Park is also right next door.

If you take the seaside tram a few minutes north, you can travel to Blackpool Tower and enjoy unparalleled views of the city as well as Madame Tussaud's wax museum. Don’t forget to check out the Blackpool Tower Dungeon, a popular stop featuring brilliantly funny shows and special effects. This area is also home to one of the most famous events in Blackpool tourism: the Blackpool Illuminations, a multi-month celebration where coastal Blackpool is lit up with thousands of lights.

Finally, if your holiday in Blackpool has you tuckered out, you can head for a picnic in scenic Stanley Park or pay a visit to the Blackpool Zoo right nearby. With Blackpool’s perfect mix of pleasant seaside weather, family fun, and lively nightlife, it’s no secret that so many visitors have been delighted by their vacation in Blackpool.
