Reserve with 2 new species of fish
Dja Ecological Reserve is in South-Central provinces and eastern Cameroon, 243 kilometers southeast of Yaounde and 5 kilometers from Lomie, this is bound to 2 forest reserves that are next to: Boumba-Bek and Nki , made up of the biggest protected zone of the region. This is one of the biggest and best-protected rainforests in Africa, special in that 90% of the area occupied by this forest is unchanged. This reserve is entirely surrounded by the Dja River, which forms a natural barrier. It is known for its biodiversity, which is characterized by the wide diversity of primates, has 1,500 species of plants, 320 species of birds and 100 species of mammals, of which 5 are in danger of extinction.
It is also a small population of Baka Pygmies, who live in tiny camps , and because of the lifestyle they lead, they have it hard to find a fixed settlement because they are always expelled from the lands where they live or otherwise restricting them to hunt with the methods usually, however this community is of great importance for the historical and cultural legacy for the country involved. An interesting fact that has recently been discovered in the waters, 2 new species of fish, which had hitherto been unknown to science. The reservation of such importance to this country that is considered a world heritage site by UNESCO.
