Almudena
Very old zoo and botanical garden
This is one of the oldest zoos in the world. Dating from 1864, its construction was put in charge of a French veterinarian (Louis Germain) and was built on a great area of about 12 hectares. Open daily from 07:00 to 20:00. Currently, the truth is that it looks a bit forgotten and I do not think animals live in optimal conditions, we saw some poor tigers that were just walking back and forth in a three meters long cage. Along with the zoo you can also visit the botanical garden, home to many rare species of orchids and decorative plants.
