Youth Hostel Hervey Bay

Like most hostels, this one enjoys a good location in the city center, but the facilities are more than good for the price you'll be paying. It has a nice pool, bungalows for about 6 people (although there are for two people) and areas where they connect to the Internet, play board games or read. The deal is exquisite. In my case, I spent the night there to connect with a tour to see Fraser Island.
