Very small town

Xexuxcab is a very small town. It takes an hour and a half to get to Nebaj. As far as transport there is almost nothing. Maybe if the guy who has a pickup walks by he can take you in exchange for some money, but to take the truck, walk towards Nebaj. Xexuxcab forms part of a triangle with Ixil, one of the most remote and traditional regions of Guatemala. The style of dress and language are very different. Ixil is spoken, which has nothing to do with the other Mayan languages of this region of Quiché . Xexuxcab lives on growing bean and corn thanks to the neighboring Xexuxcab river. The they take them to sell in Nebaj markets.

In general, there are a couple of volunteers from the U.S. Peace Corps in the village who do projects in health and education. People learn basic hygiene rules with their children, vaccines, like having drinkable water ... Around the Ixil triangle it is very beautiful. You go through Xexuxcab if you do the three-day trek that takes you from Nebaj to Todos Santos Cuchumatan.
