Württemberg State Museum

The museum is located in Stuttgart in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. The Württemberg State Museum offers visitors a presentation of the history of the state from the Stone Age to the present day. The museum was opened in 1862 by King William I as a collection of "national antiquities". In the 1960s, the Museum of Decorative Arts merged with the State Museum, which had been located in Stuttgart "Altes Schloss" (Old Castle) since 1969.
