Capri es muy conocida por esta gruta que también lleva otros nombres, también hay otra gruta en el mismo acantilado que la llaman igual Gruta Blanca y precisamente por ese hueco los nobles romanos tiraban a los esclavos no deseados, muy duro me pareció.
La perla del Sur llaman a la isla de Capri, el icono de esta isla la gruta Blanca o Farallones es donde se rodó el anuncio publicitario Dolce Gavanna , aunque también existe otra gruta llamada solamente GRUTA BLANCA por donde tiraban los esclavos no queridos.
Es una excursión muy recomendable, claro tener en cuenta las condiciones metereologicas, porque para la gruta azul si hay marea alta tapa la entrada a la gruta azul, pero aun no podiéndose ver esta gruta merece la pena el recorrido en barca ves unos acantilados increíbles, y muchas más grutas. La vuelta en barco alrededor de la isla comienza en Marina Grande, desde el pequeño rompeolas transversal hasta el quelle del puerto.
Ahora nos dirigimos hacia el Oeste, se costea la playa de Marina Grande y los Baños de Tiberiodes nos encontramos con altos acantilados de roca calcárea con hendiduras y cuevas cubiertas pur una rica vegetación autóctona. Una vez superada la Punta de Gramola, se llega a la Cueva Azul (os contaré mi experiencia, el día fabuloso íbamos en lancha y al llegar a esta pequeña entrada en el acantilado a una cueva que llamaban GRUTA AZUL, nos dio miedo entonces no sabiamos nadar, había que subirse a una pequeña barca de remo y sentarse o más bien tumbarse en el suelo de la barca, fuimos dejando que la gente subiese y al final le eche valor y habíamos demasiadas personas para la barca pues amontonados en el suelo fuimos hacia la gruta con una mezcla de miedo y ganas de aventura, resulto que no podíamos entrar en la cueva porque iba subiendo la marea, sin embargo lo intento tres veces Caray que sino me morí del susto esa vez ya nunca me muero jajajajaja, había una cadena donde el remero puesto de pie la cogía con la mano y al bajar la ola intentabamos entrar, pues a la tercera intentona entramos, hasta el cabello se me engancho en la cadena !! Qué tiro de Pelo¡¡, luego dentro las paredes nada tienen que ver solo mirar hacia la pequeñita entrada por donde difícilmente entramos, nos llegaba una luz que a las trasparentes aguas de la gruta le daban un tono bellisímo azul turqueza). Ya nuevamente en la lancha seguimos hacia el oeste, se pasa por la Cala del Rio, la cala más grande del lado oeste de la isla, y la Cala del Tombosiello, más conocida como Cala de Limmo.
Una vez superado el Faro de Punta Carena, se continúa hasta encontrar: la Cueva de los Santos, en cuyo interior la erosión calcárea y la acción del mar han modelado formas que recuerdan estatuas de tema religioso; la Cueva Roja, denominada así por el color oscuro de las aguas, a causa de las algas y a las inflorescencias submarinas; la Cueva Verde, rica en efectos luminosos y cromáticos.
La excursión que dura sobre una hora es para no perdersela es de lo mejor de Capri.
