Protector of Cusco
The White Christ (or Cristo Blanco) is a colossal statue located in one of the highest areas of Cuzco: Cerro Pukamoko (3600m.). You can see the figure of Christ from everywhere in the city, and it seems like he is almost protecting Cuzco. The sculpture has impressive dimensions and is very bright, particularly at night when the lights at the bottom are lit up to give it a sense of grandeur. It was made in 1945 by Olazo Ernesto Olivera.
