Unforgettable
Seeing a whale is one of the most amazing experiences that you can have in your lifetime. If you love nature, you will remember the sights, the smells (yes, really!) and the feelings for the rest of your life. Along the pier in Monterey there are various companies offering whale watching all year round for fifty dollars (the link is referring to one of many). Thanks to its shape, the Monterey Bay is always full of sea life, so whales and dolphins can be found in every season. In short, it is one of the best places in the world for whale watching. For this reason it is really worth it. But I, to be honest, I had no particular expectations when I got on the boat. When you leave the port you are instructed by the crew about what to look out for that might help indicate where the whales are. But I wasn't feeling too hopeful, so it was really crazy to hear the scream of the crew that indicated the presence of a whale! We saw a humpback whale and her calf just a few meters away.
