Westward Ho! Beach has it all.
For those with canine companions there’s a fabulous section of the beach open to them and it backs on to a park that’s also open for them just don’t let them get too close to the horses! For the adventurous Westward Ho! is home to one of the UK’s best surf schools. The North Devon Surf School is the best place to either learn to surf or to hone your skills. I’ve been back every year for the last 5 and have never been disappointed.
If you just want to relax then the beach is also perfect for sun lounging or sand castle building, the shipwreck also makes for some great photos just make sure you go when the tide is out to see it! On the entrance to the beach there is also a newly renovated pizza cafe that stone bakes your pizza right in front of you, definitely worth a visit when you’ve finished exploring.
