Waterfalls of Zicavo
Zicavo is a beautiful small town in inland Corsica, with spectacular surroundings. The mountains dominate the environment and the vegetation is amazing. About a mile from the village towards Aullene is one of the most wonderful places in this area. It is a beautiful waterfall coming down from the mountains. Its beauty is breathtaking. It is a magical place where visitors are overwhelmed by the tranquility. The sound of water falling from below makes you forget everything, it's awesome. In summer, people come to this waterfall to swim, because it has different zones and there are some places where the river is little calm.
It is best approached on foot from the village to enjoy the beautiful scenery. You can also make several hiking trails through this area that cross the waterfall. You can even finish the tour with a dip in the clear waters, it's also pretty hot. The most famous route is the Bocca di LÁgnonu and Coscione plain, which is crossed by a flat stretch of the GR-20.
