A Very Different Temple
The wonderful Rongkhun Wat temple, also known as the White Temple, is the most unique and amazing temple that you can see in Thailand. Its construction started in 1997 and continues today. The designer himself is a famous sculptor named Thai Chalermchai who decided to devote the rest of his life to finance and build this magnificent offering to Buddha. Its completely white and his millions of encrusted crystals that shines so brightly it's blinding on sunny days. Inside, there are surrealist paintings reminiscent of Dali's work. The exterior certainly reminds us a little of Gaudiano style. Its a must-see attraction, and is included in all the programs that visit Chiang Raithe with the tour group
