One of the jewels of Ayutthaya
Known as the Golden Mount, this temple located northwest of the city is situated on top of a mountain from which you can take in the sights of the local area of rice paddies and fish ponds. At first, this Chedi was built by the Burmese during the occupation, but after many years it collapsed due to a lack of maintenance. It was rebuilt and has become what we now see today. There is also a recently-built statue of King Naresuan on the long avenue leading up to the temple. It's a quiet place where you can admire one of the jewels of Ayutthaya.
