2 reviews of Walk the Carreterie

Nice walk with few tourists

There are not many tourists taking a stroll around La Carreterie, because it passes through the historical east side. The walk is a little over an hour, if you want to see all the points of interest in this district. The walk begins at the 14th century San Juan Tower, and makes its way in the direction of the Chapel of the Visitation from the XVII century. You can see the oldest part of the university in the city just before arriving at the beautiful Des Carmes plaza. There was once a very lively market here, and it's now been restored. The route, marked in blue on the ground, passes through the old salt barn, and the convenet of Santa Catalina.

You finish in the old 19th century courthouse , and the National School of Music.
