Viridalia

Viridalia è la festa delle orchidee e del giardinaggio che si tiene ogni anno, verso la fine di settembre, nella splendida location del Castello Porto Colleoni di Thiene. Per un fine settimana, i giardini e il portico del castello si riempiono di stand dedicati ai fiori, al mondo del giardinaggio, oggettistica da giardino, attività all'aperto, cibo e abbigliamento a tema. L'evento di maggior richiamo è l'esposizione internazionale di Orchidee da collezione, dove si possono vedere gli esemplari più strani, grandi o minuscoli, di orchidee provenienti da tutto il mondo; lungo il portico numerosi stand dedicati alla vendita di orchidee. Nei giardini esterni e nelle scuderie c'è veramente l'imbarazzo della scelta: dallo stand degli agrumi mediterranei alle piante antiche, dall'oggettistica alla lavanda al ferro battuto, dalle marmellate ai saponi, dai foulard che sembrano fiori alle casette per uccelli... Da non trascurare gli eventi e le attività: mostre fotografiche, laboratorio di acquerelli botanici, potatura piante storiche in tree-climbing, cucina medievale o biologica... ce n'è veramente per tutti i gusti!

Viridalia is the festival of orchids and gardening held every year, towards the end of September, in the beautiful location of the Castle Porto Colleoni Thiene. For one weekend, the gardens and the porch of the castle are full of stands dedicated to flowers, to the world of gardening, garden gifts, outdoor activities, food and themed clothing. The most attractive event is the international exhibition of orchids collectibles, where you can see the strangest specimens, large or tiny, of orchids from around the world, along the porch numerous booths dedicated to selling orchids. In the outdoor gardens and the stables there really are spoiled for choice: from the stand of the ancient Mediterranean citrus plants, from objects to lavender to wrought iron, from jams to soaps, from scarves that look like flowers to the bird houses .. . Do not overlook the events and activities: exhibitions, workshop botanical watercolors, pruning plants in historic tree-climbing, medieval kitchen or biological ... there is truly something for everyone!
