Vintgar Gorge (Soteska Vintgar)

9 reviews of Vintgar Gorge (Soteska Vintgar)

Incredibly beautiful place

Only 4 km from Bled is Vintgar Gorge, near the villages Zasip and Podhom. Wooden walkways that go all the way across from side to side get narrower dodging the walls so you can observe this wonderful place from a distance of about 2 km. The path can be done in 30 mins but it is so spectacular that you take lots of pictures, with a super-clear water and lush vegetation. At the end of the journey there's the Sum waterfall with a small picnic area and toilets.

enjoy a beautiful sunset

Excellent

Taking advantage of the proximity to Bled, we spent the day visiting the Radovna river rapids. The section from Bled to the park can be done on foot. It took us two or three hours but if I remember correctly. The peaceful countryside turns into woods that surround the river Radovna and the Gorges. Between the rock walls the water falls quickly. There are wooden walkways attached to the rock that follow the rapids. It's impressive and the deafening noise of the water crashing against the rocks is constant. If you are in Bled it's worth while going there. It is a day excursion, leaving in the morning and returning in the afternoon.
