Camon
Near Mirepoix, on a fairy tale path that runs along the river Hers and passes by the ruins of the Cathar castle of Lagarde, lies the village of Camon, which originally was a medieval fortified abbey. The small village, with the walls of the houses covered by vines. In spring Camon is a spectacle: hundreds of roses frame the windows which are painted in bright colors. The village only has one restaurant (very busy), a shady and quiet church, and a castle, now converted into a very romantic hotel.
