Scollinare su e giù nell 800'
Anche se Torino è conosciuta ai più per lo stile barocco secentista delle Chiese, delle piazze e delle residenze Sabaude, a cavallo tra 800' e primi decenni del 900' il Liberty, lo stile architettonico che imperversava allora si diffuse e crebbe nel capoluogo piemontese a tal punto che oggi questa città è considerata la capitale italiana del suddetto stile.
Non furono però gli edifici epicentro del potere a cambiare volto seguendo le nuove direttive artistiche: piuttosto furono le case degli aristocratici e dei nuovi ricchissimi borghesi ad incarnare lo spirito stilistico del tempo, soprattutto nei quartieri di Cit Turin, della Crocetta e della Collina.
In quest'ultima zona è oggi, cento anni dopo, bello e curioso passeggiare tra quelle ville e quei monumenti che tanti anni fa erano il non-plus-ultra moderno e contemporaneo in quanto a stile ed architettura.
Tra i tanti edifici il più famoso è sicuramente Villa Scott (1902), che oltre ad essere un vero gioiello di architettura Liberty è celebre anche per essere la "villa del bambino urlante" di "Profondo Rosso" del regista Dario Argento. Vox populi dice che, essendo allora un'istituto femminile gestito dalle suore, il regista, per poter creare il più famoso horror cinematografico di tutti i tempi, mandò suore e allieve in vacanza in Riviera Romagnola!
