Villa Romana di La Llosa

La città di Cambrils è una delle principali mete turistiche della Catalogna, nonché capitale gastronomica della Costa Dorata. La passeggiata che costeggia il mare è magnifica, e seguiamo i cartelli che ci portano alle rovine della Villa romana della Llosa. Si tratta di un un sito archeologico romano con reperti risalenti tra il I secolo a.C. e al VI secolo d.C., visitabile a piedi. La scoperta del sito è avvenuta nel 1980 ed oggi risulta essere uno degli scavi archeoligici più importanti della provincia. Dagli scavi sono emersi resti di quello che doveva essere una grande casa, con bagni enormi, così pure i forni, e una piccola necropoli. Le inumazioni venivano poste in fosse scavate a lato di quella che doveva essere la casa principale. Tuttavia il cadavere era accompagnato da oggetti che avevano avuto grande importanza durante la sua vita. In una delle sepolture sono stati trovati oggetti di bellezza, la maggior parte in bronzo, come tre braccialetti, un anello, alcuni orecchini, una fibbia e i resti di un oggetto che potevano essere una piccola scatola porta gioielli. Tutti gli oggetti possono essere datati del V secolo a.C. Sono ritrovamenti importanti che permettono di conoscere ancor meglio lo stile di vita che conducevano i romani. Nel 1992 è stata scoperta una collezione straordinaria di bronzi. Tutti i ritrovamenti fanno pensare che questa casa potesse appartenere ad una famiglia di alto livello sociale, che poteva permettersi il lusso di vivere in riva al mare, acquistando bronzi di produzione italiana probabilmente già dal I secolo d.C.
