Villa Freya

In seguito ai restauri il giardino di Villa Freya, abitazione della storica saggista ed esploratrice Freya Stark è stato riaperto al pubblico ed è quindi visitabile le mattine dei primi tre sabati di ogni mese (fatta eccezione per Agosto e Dicembre) assieme ad una guida che ne narra le vicende storiche e anche politiche del tempo in cui Freya visse qui. Gli ospiti della scrittrice, infatti, erano artisti e uomini politici, e trascorrevano interi pomeriggi fra le siepi di rose sotto i lecci secolari. Qui certamente si intrecciarono vicende interessanti legate alla società del tempo. Nell'entrare qui si fa un viaggio nel tempo e permette di visitare anche l'antico teatro romano di Acelum che fu scoperto nella metà dell'800 ed è ancora oggi ben conservato. Consiglio la visita in primavera quando i fiori e le piante regalano tutto il loro splendore facendo da cornice ad un giardino colorato e lussureggiante.

Following the restoration of the Garden Villa Freya, home of the historical essayist and explorer Freya Stark was reopened to the public and is therefore open to the morning of the first three Saturdays of each month (except August and December) along with a guide that narrates the historical events and also policies of the time when Freya lived here. The guests of the writer, in fact, were artists and politicians, and spent whole afternoons between the hedges of roses under the oaks trees. Here certainly intertwined stories of interest related to the society of the time. When entering here you make a journey through time and allows you to also visit the ancient Roman theater Acelum that was discovered in the mid-800 and is still well preserved. Council's visit in the spring when the flowers and plants give all their glory making the setting for a colorful and lush garden.
