Vilamos

Vilamós is one of the villages located at the highest level of the Val d´Arán, and therefore it has the most exceptional views of the entire region. The views are excellent and we discovered peaks such as Maladeta or the Pico Aneto (3,404 mts), the highest peak of the Pyrenees.

"Guardader" means viewpoint and this one in Vilamós is one of the most incredible ones. In spite of the winding road and the endless 8 kms that separate it from the main motorway, it is worth reaching this lovely Aranese village which offers not only one of the most incredible views of the valley, but a complete series of small treasures, such as Casa Joaquinet among others.

Vilamós is a small village in the Valley of Arán. It is located at 1.255 mts high and dominates the Artiga de Lina rea. The Aneto mountain can be seen from this village where there is only one restaurant which is not always open.

It is said that here is the oldest church of the Valley, dating back to the Eleventh century, the Chapel of San Miqueu. With snow, getting here could be complicated, but if you have a chance, come up here because its location offers the most extraordinary views. In the winter there is even less crowds.
