Vila de Dois Rios

Esta pacata e bela vila de Ilha Grande é conhecida pelo seu passado que ainda incomoda muitos, a ditadura militar. Nos arredores da vila ficava o presídio de segurança máxima Candido Mendes, famoso por abrigar desafetos políticos e posteriormente criminosos perigosos. Hoje com o presídio desativado o local é pacato e possui uma das mais belas praias da Ilha. Curiosamente, foi no presídio Cândido Mendes, que ficou Graciliano Ramos, que perseguido por Getúlio Vargas, durante sua prisão escreveria uma das obras primas da literatura, Memórias de um Cárcere. Com menos de duas centenas de moradores, a vila é um destes lugarejos que fazem o tempo passar mais lento e nos imaginar um Rio com sua natureza intocada.
