Viewpoint of the Castle

Guarda es la ciudad portuguesa situada a mayor nivel de altitud del país, a 1.056 metros y este mirador, situado a los pies de la Torre del Homenaje del Castillo, es el punto más alto. Llegar hasta aquí cuesta un poco pero es muy sencillo, son rampas y escaleras, situadas en la calle que bordea la fachada posterior de la Catedral. No se puede subir en coche, pero el esfuerzo merece la pena (siempre que no haya niebla). Desde este mirador hay unas vistas espectaculares de toda la ciudad, la Catedral y del Parque Natural Serra da Estrela, ya que la ciudad se asienta sobre las faldas de esa serranía.

Save is the largest Portuguese city located at the country level altitude at 1056 meters and this viewpoint, located at the foot of the Torre del Homenaje del Castillo, is the highest point. Getting here costs a bit but it is very simple, are ramps and stairs, located on the road that runs along the rear facade of the Cathedral. You can go by car, but the effort is worth it (provided there is no fog). From this viewpoint there are spectacular views across the city, the Cathedral and the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, as the city sits on the foothills of the mountains.
