Nauta viewpoint, with local foods and stunning views
First get to Iquitos, a journey of one hour and twenty minutes by plane from Lima. At the airport its possible to contact travel agents to arrange to drive up to Nauta. There, you contact the people who drive the tourists to the Mirador de Nauta, about two kilometres away. You will make a trip by water on a motor boat. You get to the town of Grau. You will be taken to the viewpoint, where you can observe the union of the Maranon and Ucayali rivers to form the majestic Amazon, which is more than 6,800 kilometres long, taking over the Nile by 40km. After contemplating this wonder, and on your return from Nauta, you can eat typical local food.
Huanchaco: A coastal port in the Department of Liberty a few kilometres from the city of Trujillo. It has a wide, clean beach. There is the possibility to have a go at surfing, guided by experts of an ancient method. You can stay overnight in any of the hotels in the port, that are convenient and comfortable. Don't worry about food, as fresh fish is mainly on offer here. Grouper fish is recommended. To get here you can take a flight from Lima lasting 50 minutes or eight hours by land travel, on a pleasant, scenic bus. Dare to visit this beautiful corner of the Earth.
