A pleasant park
Established in 1870, the Victoria Tower Gardens owes its name to its proximity to the famous Victoria Tower of the Palace of Westminster. This garden at the edge of the Thames is not very big, but has several monuments: A sculpture by Rodin (The Burghers of Calais), a statue of the suffragette activist Emmeline Pankhurst, and the "Buxton Memorial Fountain," commissioned by Charles Buxton MP to commemorate the abolition of slavery.
