A mi me la recomendaron y ahora me toca a mí hacerlo. En un país donde el chocolate te sale por las orejas, es difícil que una pastelería destaque sobre el resto. Pero en Verheecke, la verdad, hay calidad, cantidad, variedad y precios bastante baratos en una tienda que no destaca por su tamaño. Más de 25 años llevan vendiendo chocolates en la bella ciudad de Brujas.
Está muy muy cerca de la plaza principal, en Steenstraat, una calle que desemboca en ella. Desde fuera ya se puede hacer uno a la idea de todo lo que va a encontrar en su interior, pues tiene expuestos en los escaparates infinidad de productos a cual más apetecible.
Y dentro, uno ya se vuelve loco porque no sabe qué comprar. Hay chocolates de todos los tipos y purezas, con todo tipo de rellenos y formas, desde las típicas y tradicionales hasta las más eróticas como pechos o siluetas de mujer... (entre otras muchas).
Tienen gran variedad de chocolates, a unos 15 euros el kilo, aunque algunos son más baratos y otros, lógicamente, más caros. También venden galletas -entre ellas las típicas de Bélgica, que son muchas-, caramelos, dulces típicos y un sinfín de productos derivados o relacionados con el chocolate y el azúcar.
Eso sí, también los tienen sin azúcar para los que no puedan pasarse.
Y, como el chocolate es lo más típico, no sólo venden al peso o para consumir en el momento, sino que también tienen sus cajitas preparadas y sus “combos” de diferentes variedades listos para llevarse a casa, muy bien empaquetaditos para que no se estropeen ni se desparramen en el avión.
Suele haber bastante gente, entre otras cosas por su situación, en pleno centro turístico de la ciudad, aunque también por su calidad.
El servicio, además, es bastante bueno, los dependientes hablan varios idiomas y son bastante amables.
Tienen otra tienda algo más pequeñita y más escondida en Mariastrat.
