1 review of Venitian Gallerys

Worth a visit

Just like the Royal Galleries, the Venetian Galleries are located on the Albert I promenade along the beach of Ostend. Their construction was ordered by the Belgian, King Leopold II, who wanted to build a palace overlooking the sea. Later, the royal family no longer wished to use the palace, so it was offered to the city of Ostend which converted it into an exhibition space. At the edge of the coast, the Venetian Galleries, and Galeries Royales, give this beautiful walk a pleasant bourgeois charm. Near the wooden huts on the beach, this postcard scene is now quite typical of the city of Ostend.
