Vena di Maida é uma bela cidade na província de Catanzaro, na região sul da Itália, em Calábria. Foi criada por imigrantes Albaneses no alto de uma bela colina entre os rios Jayari Cottala Oeste e leste. Os habitantes falam três línguas, uma onde falam apenas os nascidos em Maida e as outras são o Albanês e o Italiano. Por ser uma cidade em um local alto, sua temperatura é baixa na maioria das vezes, variando em 16ºC e 4ºC. Uma curiosidade na história desta cidade é que no ano de 1806 esse território foi o palco de uma grande batalha entre ingleses e franceses, a qual os ingleses levaram a melhor. Tempos depois, os cidadãos participaram de movimentos ressurgimentais. Quem vai a esta bela cidade se depara com o domínio dos restos de um castelo normando, destruído pelo terrível terremoto no ano de 1783.
