Vasco da Gama Bridge

At the xit to the southeast of Lisbon, is the Vasco de Gama bridge. It is a concrete cable-stayed bridge with concrete viaducts, which was designed by Armando Rito and Michel Virlogeux. It was built for the Universal Exhibition of 1998 in order to reduce traffic congestion in the city, passing over the Tagus estuary watching their ecological impact.
