Valley of Cochamó

We went for a week of riding in this remote corner of the Andes in December. It is located in the south of Chile, about 2 hours from the city of Puerto Varas. You can reach it by bus or car from the city of Cochamo in Reloncavi Fjord. From there begins the adventure, five hours of horseback riding or walking to get to the place called The Board or the a small Yosemite, a paradise for lovers of rock climbing. The scenery includes turquoise water, hills with incredible view and a river with a bridge and a tree in the middle, I believe it was in the film Lord of the Rings. Five hours later and you will reach Vidal Lake.

It continues around the lake to reach Torrentoso, home to a man over 80 years old, with his small cabin, horses and animals, living a very healthy life. After one more day and you get to the border with Argentina. A truly wonderful place.
