Urubamba River
The Urubamba River runs through the main part of the Cusqueño territory and is called the Vilcanota River. Since it passes through the town of Urubamba, it goes by that name as well. The turbulence of the river as it passes through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Pisac becomes very strong. I have never in my life seen a river with such force. We spent the night in Aguas Calientes before going to Machu Picchu and the sound of the running waters of the Urubamba was our lullaby.
