It is very interesting to visit the castle in Catania, home to the museum where you can admire more than 8000 pieces of archaeological remains, inscriptions, coins, sculptures, paintings, clay sarcophagi, and mosaics. The walls are massive, well preserved and have a thickness of 2.50 meters.
I knew it and I have been there before. Actually, it is one of the best places for art shows in town! They usually have temporary shows which included, in the past, Chagall, Picasso and others.
It has a really nice atmosphere, and I love having the chance to grab a chair to sit in front of my favorite art pieces which give me inspiration to do my own art.
There’s also a permanent show on the third floor (I think) which displays parts of Catania’s history. 5/5, always!
