Scenic and easy day hike
This hike in the Columbia River Gorge is a great one to combine with Elowah Falls. It starts at the same trailhead (John B. Yeon) and 2.2 miles roundtrip with a 400 ft elevation gain, so fairly easy. It's a beautiful trail which leads through the forest, heads uphill in a series of switchbacks, and even has beautiful views of the Gorge and Mt. Adams. These views come at the ledge section, where you're actually at the edge of a cliff, but luckily have handrails to hold on to if you need. The trail ends at Upper McCord Creek falls, a picturesque falls pair. You can wander further along the creek- it's a great spot to hang out and take in the tranquility of the area.
