Books and objects of the philosopher
The Miguel de Unamuno house museum is a beautiful building on Calle Libreros, of Baroque style, built in the eighteenth century.
We find inside thousands of objects, and above all, books that belonged to Miguel de Unamuno, the famous philosopher and writer, ve was rector of the University of Salamanca. The house was also his. It was later the university rectory, and in the 50’s was restored to become a house museum.
The house has two floors, a formal living room to receive people and the housing of Unamuno. We’re able to see antique furniture and the museum explains more about the history of the University of Salamanca and the life of Unamuno, ve was Basque but was rector for 36 years, from the year 1900. He was formerly a professor of Greek.
