Public garden of Reggio Calabria
The Umberto I gardens, known as "Villa Comunale", are at the heart of the city, near the train station and the Maritime promenade. They were initially created as an agricultural experimental garden, with mulberry trees. In August, 1896, they became a popular garden for locals to spend their leisure time. In 1907, the gardens were dedicated to King Umberto I. Nowadays, you can see ancient and valuable trees in the gardens.
