3 reviews of Statue of Ugra Narsimha

giant statue

Excellent

The giant statue, measuring almost seven meters high, depicts Narasimha, the half-man, half-lion, who was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Narasimha is seated on the snake's coils coils, which rises behind him covering him. Originally, there was a smaller image of Lakshmi sitting on his lap.

India is a land of God fearing people

Excellent

The statue of Ugra Narasimha is a proud reminder of the times and the lives of the people of Vijayanagara Empire and their religious views. Religion has always played a pivotal role in the lives of the kings as well as the common man. Hampi is a mirror of those royal times.
