A zoo with bigger and better animal habitats
Even though a zoo is not too different from one city to another, I have a great memory of the Ueno Zoo. Since I'm used to seeing animals in cages that are small or open spaces that are not well suited for them, I was surprised when I saw that the spaces of animals in this park were large and well acclimated. All the venues were full of greenery, the ground was uneven to make it look more natural and many areas had running water, imitating streams. They had the typical pit that people do not get too close, but glass walls that let you get much closer to animals and protect them while people often throw food.
The zoo is divided into 2 areas, which are linked by a bridge, but you can also pay a ticket to ride on a monorail. At the bottom, there is a big pond that is part of Ueno Park and next to the zoo is full of giant lily pads and some of the birds floating in the lake,and looking a little water in the water is not uncommon to see the occasional turtle swimming by. While I do not consider it a must, it is entertaining if you have time to spend, especially if you go with children.
