Ubirr is perhaps the most spectacular of the entire site Kakadu park, as well as keep an important Aboriginal heritage. The distance from the center of the park is quite important, about 50 kilometers from Jabiru each way, so it is a trip that involves a half day. Ubirr and around the park Kakadu is the only site included in the World Heritage Site both for natural and cultural. The galleries of Aboriginal art at Ubirr are among the most valuable that can be seen and are resisted for several centuries, thanks to the important work of restoration. The rock art sites depict the typical animals of the bush, such as wallabies, turtles, fish, but what is most striking is the figure of the Rainbow Serpent, the dreaded spirit of Aboriginal people and responsible for every disaster in the area, from earthquakes to floods. To Ubirr is not only for Aboriginal art: Climbing the escarpment of Kakadu is quite strenuous, even if brief, but you can admire one of the endless landscapes of Australia: The view on the ground and the floodplains of Arnhem Land is amazing. This is called the no man's land and almost seems to have no boundaries.

Ubirr Art Gallery

Ubirr Art Gallery

Excellent
