3 reviews of Tyresta National Park

Tyresö, where men meets nature.

I was out "into the wild". Of course, I had never experienced any real Swedish winter. When I decided to visit Stockholm and heard that Tyresö NP was close by, I had to go there. So I took a tent, a rucksack and some water and went on my way. It was the 3rd of April, so plenty of cold weather heading my way.

Tyresö was pretty fan-tas-tic. But also unforgivable. I came across some really good people to sit along with. They shared their meal and hot coffee, I shared my stories. After they went on, I decided to stick around next to the lake and take shelter. And that was all it was, really. I took shelter in one of the most hazardous moments of my life so far, but afterwards I enjoyed every moment of it.

Temperatures dropped to -10°C and there were heaps of sounds I couldn't even begin to describe. I barely made it until next sunrise at 6.07 am, but wow... The beauty of a national park awakening after you've been fighting it's coldness and harshness for a whole night is well worth it.
