Peat churches of Iceland
Iceland is full of peat churches, most the XIX century, very well maintained, and well worth a visit. In Hof I visited one of these churches, and it was in very good condition. The peat church of Hof I was built in 1884 and was the last peat churches built in the "old style". It was built by carpenter Páisson Pali. It is one of six churches of its kind and is considered as one of their historical monuments. Today, it is still used.
