Tunnels used to protect strategic points in Gilbraltar
The Tunnels of World War II were constructed before the belief that the Rock of Gibraltar would be attacked because it was surrounded by German and Italian troops. Because the idea of a military attack, they people thought they had to build a network of tunnels to improve zone defense because it was considered a strategic point for controlling the entrances and exits to the Mediterranean.
