Stefan Kuryłowicz died in 2011 at 62 years of age in a small plane crash in Asturias, on his way from San Sebastian to Porto. He was one of the greats of Polish architecture, the architect who helped modernize Warsaw after the communist era. His works have been awarded many prizes, from commercial and industrial buildings to residential ones. To him we owe the most modern buildings in the city.
