Ubicado en el centro de Almaty, el Pasaje Torgoby es uno de los centros comerciales más antiguos de la ciudad. Si bien el sitio ha sido completamente opacado por los modernos malls construidos a las afueras del casco histórico (como “Dostyk Plaza” o “Esentai Mall”), los locales siguen paseando por el lugar. Quizás sea debido a su céntrica ubicación, o quizás al hecho de que este fue uno de los primeros sitios donde tiendas de ropa y accesorios al estilo occidental abrieron sus puertas tras la caída de la Unión Soviética en 1991. Recientemente renovado, el Pasaje Torgoby no cuenta con locales de las principales marcas internacionales, sino más bien con comercios locales y firmas poco conocidas (al menos en Europa). Aún si no estás interesado en comprar ropa local, en el piso inferior encontrarás algunas tiendas donde podrás conseguir souvenirs y productos típicos kazajos a mejores precios que en el centro histórico.
