Lonifasiko
Traditional Italian gastronomy
This restaurant boasts that it cooks nothing but Italian cuisine, using nothing but Italian products. I can't verify the truth of that claim, but I can confirm that you'll eat very well here, on top-quality food. It's a classically Italian restaurant, with lots of wood decor, not very modern but decorated with style, and you're bound to feel comfortable. The menu abounds with a thousand flavours, offering hundreds of types of pasta, risottos, meat dishes, and a few fish. In my case, I chose to start with one of my Italian favourites, gnocchi - in this case with gorgonzola, an intense, authentic cheese making for a very filling dish.
I was tempted to order a risotto for the main course, but in the end I wanted meat: escalopes in marsala, juicy and delicious. I can't say what exactly is in the sauce, but it was divine. I was more than full, so I ignored the temptations of the dessert trolley and instead opted for a 2 € espresso, which was great. Bravo! The restaurant is located very close to Milano Centrale station, less than 5 minutes walk, on a cross street corner leading from the square in front of the station to the shopping street Corso Buenos Aires. Great location, great food, and very good service. With water and no dessert, things did not go beyond the 30 €, fairly normal for Milan.
