Transfiguration of Our Lord Churc
This small Russian Orthodox church is located on the Kenai Peninsula in the village of Ninilchik. It is in a very secluded area with a church, from where you can see a beautiful view of the Cook Inlet (Cook Inlet) and the people themselves. The church was built in 1900 and there is a traditional Russian Orthodox cemetery nearby. For the whole area of the Kenai Peninsula there are many groups of Orthodox Russians who live very isolated lives and are very similar to the Amish, ; they still dress traditionally and maintain their customs and traditions, they also speak only Russian. These groups are called the Old Believers (Believers old).
