Trail Start Volcanoes Route

The refuge and recreational area, ElPilar, is located at 1456 meters above sea level at the end of El Paso. From here many trails cross, and the volcano route is one of them.

If you don’t have enough time to take one of these long routes, another alternative is to walk a bit along these paths. The beginning of the volcano route up to Birigoyo is a good one, even for children.

You walk between a wonderful pine forest, usually foggy, and you get to an area with lava domes and from here a clear path without shadow opens and you can see the first volcanoes, such as the Birigoyo. The

It is a very nice and clean space, with all necessary services for a day of barbecue. From there you can take many different trails.

It has swings for the children, and Acropark is very near, a place to enjoy with the family.
