A plate of Extremeño glamour
We found real culinary luxury at the Torre de Albarragena Restaurant. First, we had a quick look at the sunny old home which houses the restaurant: intimate salons and rooms, period decor, and plenty of objects from the 19th century.
The location is perfect: right in the heart of the historic district in what is considered one of Spain’s most beautiful medieval cities. The menu was a symphony of flavors and I loved the service and the way that the servers described each plate that came out. We had an exquisite selection of Extremeño cured meats and cheeses, raspberry gazpacho, and then a series of main course dishes. Everything was washed down by a fine regional soup and a really, really good bubbling wine.
