Clock Tower (Jubilee Tower)

1 review of Clock Tower (Jubilee Tower)

A historical tower

This clock tower, also called the Jubilee Tower, is located in the center of Brighton and was built in 1888, and was designed by architect John Johnson to celebrate Queen Victoria's jubilee. There are some Baroque features, and it stands 23 meters high with clocks (diameter 1.5 meters) on all four sides. The entire building is made of pink granite and Portland stone, with Corinthian columns on all four sides as well as some engravings with faces of various royals. One of the few historical symbols in the ever-changing city of Brighton.
