Torre dei Ghiberti

Situata in via del Corso 48 rosso, la Torre Ghiberti si trova esattamente all’angolo della via Sant'Elisabetta a Firenze. Risalente al ‘200, la torre inizialmente era di proprietà della consorteria di Adimari, Caviccioli, Erbolotti, ecc. e passò alla famiglia Ghiberti nel 1259. Sviluppata verticalmente, la torre ha base rettangolare e presenta al pianterreno bozze di pietraforte lavorate con il sistema del bugnato. Qui si apre un ampio portone ad arco con sopra un terrazzino con balaustra realizzato in ferro battuto. I piani superiori appaiono rivestiti con il filaretto in pietra e sono presenti due finestre rettangolare e una specie di piattaforma a doppio spiovente contenente due monofore. In questo edificio abitò nel XIV secolo abitò anche Lorenzo Ghiberti, il famoso scultore e orafo fiorentino.

Located in via del Corso 48 red, the Ghiberti Torre is located exactly on the corner of the street St. Elizabeth in Florence. Dating back to 200, the tower was originally owned by the coterie of Adimari, Caviccioli, Erbolotti, etc. and pass to the Ghiberti family in 1259.
