Eternal flame
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is located in front of the Kremlin wall in Moscow. This type of monument can be seen in most major cities and pays tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives defending the Russian homeland. The monument consists of a granite tombstone with a bronze five-pointed star in the center of which burns an eternal flame. The epitaph reads, "Your name is unknown, your deed is immortal." The changing of the guard here is a popular sight for tourists visiting the Kremlin.
